This applies a bit softer than it appears. It isn’t nearly as intense as I thought it would be. I have a few other similar colors, but I think that they’re shimmer or pearl finishes rather than light sparkle.
I don’t know that I have too many (or any) purples that are this exact base shade - so it’s nice to add this to my collection. The formula is very good - it applies well and spreads evenly; and once in place, it’s pretty durable.
These eyeshadows are listed as having twice the colorchanging pigment ingredients of other Aromaleigh shadows, so they are more expensive: you pay the same amount for half the quantity, in sample baggies; and you pay double the price for full-size jars. It’s something to keep in mind when purchasing so that you don’t get sticker shock. When swatching these, I did find colorshifting properties when the light angle changed. These are not semisheer, either - the color payoff...
I had a hard time capturing the color change on this one. It’s a bit more subtle than many of the other Arcane Magic shadows, mostly the older ones. But when the color does shift, it goes from green to gold to pink to turquoise. If you like the base shade and like the idea of the subtler color change, pick this one up. If you’re looking for a very visible multichrome shift, though…best keep on searching.
An interesting near-neutral with excellent coverage. The base color isn’t the easiest for me to match colors with, because I have a lot more jeweltones and primaries than neutrals or cooler shades; and the turquoise interference pearl-shimmer narrows that range a little more. It’s always worth it, though - I have a one or two other vaguely similar-ish colors in my collection, but nothing that’s a close match. The turquoise and the orangey-brown both complement my eyes...
This eyeshadow behaves oddly when mixed with water. The finish forms a layer on top of the pigment, and the top layer isn’t always even…you can see some gaps in my foiled-swatch. The color itself is nice enough, though not terribly unique. If you have a fondness for navy or deep blue eyeshadow, you may already have something like this in your collection.
