I got this color thinking that it would somehow be a brighter purple. Instead, it’s a bit muted. The formula on this one is less good than the other polishes in this collection…or maybe it’s just the bottle that I got. At any rate, the brushstrokes really show in this one, almost like what you’d see in some of the older (late aughts) metallic-finish polishes that just couldn’t not be brushstrokey.
This is very similar to the other pale blue from this collection, Yes of Quartz. Both require at least three coats for full coverage, both are sparkle finishes with colorshifting effects. This is a stronger blue with a purple shift, though, rather than a more yellow-pink shift. Once the polish is in place, it’s fairly durable, so that’s another point in its favor. It’s just not as visually interesting to me as the less textured, more opalescent...
This looks like a very late winter/early spring color. It’s one of the better performers in the Prismatic collection, with solid coverage and no brushstrokes or thicker spots.
This is one of the few colorshifting shadow sticks I’ve seen from Kiko. The base shade is a little disappointing. It doesn’t really lay down any color at all, just a faint kind of sheer-charcoal green. The finish, which is mainly burgundy-mauve but shifts to green and gold, is the real showpiece. I like using this as a liner rather than an all-over color; but it makes a very interesting liner - it’s like some of the...
I use this brighter clear red more as a lid color than a cheek color. I could use it as a cheek color, I’d just have to be careful not to over-apply. It is easy for me to over-apply this one, and while I can blot most of it away, I prefer to not have to do that. This looks like a pretty neutral red - no overt blue tones, nor any orange leanings.
This is another one of the semi-sheer polishes that gives full coverage…sort of. The nail beyond the bed still remains just a little translucent, and if you layer this polish over another one the resulting manicure has tones of both polishes. That means you can lighten these by appyling it over a white creme like French Tip or darken them by applying over a black creme; but also that you can make this color more blue or more green,...
I don’t know if this is a neon polish or not…I think “not”, but just barely. I have other bright pinks, but most of them are deeper - more toward fuchsia than this lovely bright shade that’s like baby pink with the wattage cranked up. I would love this polish, but the formula in the bottle that I got is not all that great. Even with two coats, it’s uneven. The manicure is streaky, and you...
Like the other face-stix kits from Colourpop, this had full-size blushes and one full-size highlighter. Buying one of these kits got you a very slight discount over buying them all individually, but if you bought one of these kits, you’d get two well-coordinated blushes and a complementary shade of highlighter. This took some of the guesswork out of choosing the best highlighter to use with a given blush.
