This is definitely an effects topper. It’s too sheer, even at three coats, to provide full coverage. I think that I personally will get the best use out of it by applying it in stairstepped layers, to counterfeit a texture-gradient.

I love this shade! It’s a lovely metallic rose gold with pretty good spreadability - though like many metallics, it does show brushstrokes. This also seems to have a bit of visible texture to it, though it’s not a full-on foil finish. (Once I bought one Living the Dream kit, I bought a second just for this color alone!) This is the most “work-safe” of the trio. It’s an almost-milky mauve-tan shade that gives me full coverage in two coats. I think that I have some similar shades, but none with quite this final texture. This is a cream, but it’s almost a crelly. I have the tiniest bit of VNL after two coats. When I experimented, a third coat gave me complete opacity…but I was at about 95% opacity with two.

I had several of their duos, but I was interested in this collection when I saw it on sale for just $2 over the price of a regular polish duo. I fell in love with Queen Contour almost immediately! (Apparently I’m just as much of a sucker for rose gold nail polish as half the internet.)
