Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Rosewine blush

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Rosewine blush

This is definitely a deeper, very pigmented blush. There's enough color payoff that I can use this as an softened eye color, a bit like TKB's Soft Mauve but with a satin finish and a little less pigmentation. When I wear this as a blush, I need to use a very light touch, so that I don't over-apply. I also find that I like the results best when I overlap it with a highlighter.

Girly Bits’ Oh Baby Baby trio

Girly Bits’ Oh Baby Baby trio

Three thermal nail polishes, created to celebrate the birth of the owner's two grandchildren: one, for the sister who decided to know the physical-sex of her child, and two for the one who decided to wait until the baby's birth to learn its birth-sex. Even though there are three colors in this collection, I was only interested in the two more obvious-shift thermals. These were my first thermal polishes. I previously had either been uninterested in the colors, or my...

Sigil Inspired’s Amethyst Miner

Sigil Inspired’s Amethyst Miner

As far as I can tell, this is one of the "unique" colors in the Sigil Inspired lineup. I can't easily pick it out of the TKB Trading colorants that I own, nor out of the ones listed on their site. It may possibly be a base-oxide colorant with, perhaps, a lighter-green fine-particle mica mixed in for the shimmer effect. The application and coverage are fairly good, and it blends well, though I'm going to take a guess and say...

Sephora’s Colorful Shadow Liner in Secret Boudoir

Sephora’s Colorful Shadow Liner in Secret Boudoir

This is more yellow than I had originally thought it might be. It acts as a brightening layer or base for shadows. I don’t know that I would have purchased this if I knew it had been described as “yellow”, but it is a very pale yellow, almost white-yellow. It reminds me of a slightly lighter pencil-version of MAC’s Soft Ochre Paint Pot.

This strongly reminds me of a grittier version of Sally Hansen's Virtual Violet. I needed to use four coats to get near-total opacity, but even then there are hints of VNL. I see shadings to darker purple, medium purple, and blue.

Shiro Cosmetics / Detrivore’s Decomposition collection

Shiro Cosmetics / Detrivore’s Decomposition collection

The palette for this one is spring-ish, but a bit deeper. Not greyed, precisely, but...these are not pastels. The color payoff is uniform, they're all completely opaque, and mostly satin finishes with one soft shimmer and one quasi-metallic. When I saw the initial vendor photos, I was first drawn to Sulph-Haemoglobin and Vivianite. Being able to swatch all of the colors, I decided to also get Rigor and Hypostasis.

Fyrinnae’s Pantydraco

Fyrinnae’s Pantydraco

This has full coverage, but it’s not completely even. It’s thinner in some spots than others. It’s not sheer in some places, it just doesn’t look best when it’s swept on. Patted into place, it looks great! It’s a blue-based gold-green, so it looks like it might lean warm but it’s just barely cool. The shade is really interesting: it blends well when blending into another color or smoked out over skin or...

Neutrogena’s Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110

Neutrogena’s Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110

For years I would wear Neutrogena’s Dry Touch sunblock on my face, and just wear really minimal makeup, so that I wouldn’t get that heavy feeling on my face. When this came out, I was interested to try it and see how it worked. This comes in two levels of sun protection, 70 SPF or 110 SPF. The formula absorbs into my face very quickly, and doesn’t have any interactions with the moisturizing serum that I use. I can...
